After the long drive from Swindon up to Glasgow it was time to get out. I decided to visit the newly opened Loch Lomond Shores near Balloch at the southern end of Loch Lomond. | |
One of the main attractions at Loch Lomond Shores is Drumkinnon Tower (picture left) with its viewing platform at the top. I gave the various shows and exhibitions in the tower a miss and headed straight up to the viewing platform. The view north towards Ben Lomond is very nice, even though Ben Lomond was hiding in the clouds. |
From Loch Lomond Shores I walked to Balloch and then continued north along Loch Lomond. Somewhere just past Balloch I encountered a group of youg people who had decided to go for a swim in Loch Lomond, disregarding that it was December and the temperature just above freezing... |

The walk along Loch Lomond was very nice with some nice views north-west. Late in the afternoon I returned to my car to drive back to Glasgow after a very nice day out. |
