The Armin Grewe Homepage
The views from the summit of a Munro are difficult to show in a simple picture. While they still can't replace the real thing large panoramas can at least give a quite good impression of the impressive landscape of the Scottish Highlands. The panoramas listed on this page are from a number of walks between 2003 and 2005, they are also part of the individual travelogues from those visits to Scotland. Some of the views are from the summit of the Munro, some were taken during the ascent or descent.

To view the full version of the panoramas you need to have Apple's QuickTime software installed, which should automatically install the required QuickTime plugin for you browser. Once you have the plugin installed, enjoy:

Cairn Gorm In August 2003 I walked to the summit of Cairn Gorm on a beautiful sunny afternoon. There are two QTVR panoramas from this walk, first a view south west from the slopes of Cairn Gorm:

The second panorama is a view of Cairn Gorm itself from the south on the Coire Cas path:

Ben Lomond December 2003 I visited Ben Lomond, despite some low clouds I had a great view north from the summit of Ben Lomond:

Ben Vorlich In December 2004 I visited the Arrochar Alps again. I didn't have enough time to make it all the way to the summit of Ben Vorlich, but was able to take two nice panoramas. First a view south west from the slopes of Ben Vorlich:

The second panorama from this walk was a great view over Loch Lomond:

Ben Vane Also in December 2004 I walked to the summit of Ben Vane. Unfortunately it was fairly cloudy for most of the walk, so I only have cloud covered view from Ben Vane to offer here:

Conival and Ben More Assynt In August 2005 I travelled to Assynt to tackle Conival and Ben More Assynt. Both of the two panoramas I took during this walk are from the summit of Conival. First a view east from Conival to Ben More Assynt:

The second panorama is a view south west from the summit of Conival including Loch Assynt:

Màm Sodhail Also in August 2005 I visit Glen Affric and walked to the summit of Màm Sodhail. The panorama is a view over Coire Leachavie from Màm Sodhail, just before clouds moved in again:

Beinn Narnain The last Munro I visited in August 2005 was Beinn Narnain on a beautiful sunny day. The fantastic weather gave me amazing views and lead to three panoramas. First a view south west from Beinn Narnain over Loch Long:

The second panorama is a wide view from the summit of Beinn Narnain, looking mainly north, east and south-west:

The third and last panorama of the walk on Beinn Narnain is a view over the Arrochar Alps from Beinn Narnain:
