I participated in WalkIslay 2003, 2004 and 2005, in April 2006 it was time for the fourth WalkIslay Islay walking week. We had good to excellent weather for almost the whole week with almost no rain to speak of. Just under 300 walks were completed by the participants during the seven days. Here is the travelogue from my journey and the walks I completed:

Driving through Argyll and taking the ferry to Islay. Stops at Loch Lomond, Inveraray, Port Ann and Tarbert. Also great views of the Paps of Jura from the ferry.
Storakaig and Islay's Fruit Basket
Donald James (DJ) MacPhee took us on a walk from Storakaig to Dun Nosebridge and through Islay's old 'fruit basket' in Islay's Great Glen.

Callum Sharp took us to Proaig and on to the lighthouse and McArthur's head, we also had the opportunity to visit a cave believed to be used by illegal whisky distillers.

Isle of Jura
Gordon Muir took us on a walk along the west coast of Jura from the Three Arched Bridge to Lagg.

Jack Adamson took us on the longest walk of the week from Gortantaoid to Bholsa, on to Rhuvaal and finally to Bunnahabhain. Great views in the remote north of Islay.

Isle of Colonsay
James How took us over to Colonsay for a walk to Kiloran Bay and great views from Carnan Eoin

Iain MacPherson took us on a walk around Ardnave with views over Loch Gruinart and Nave Island. And an impressive sand castle.
The Oa and Beinn Mhór
Gus Keys took us on my last walk of the week, a walk around The Oa and to the summit of Beinn Mhór with amazing views over to Ireland.

The views were so good that I had to split the pictures on to two pages: The Oa and Beinn Mhór and The Oa and Beinn Mhór (cont'd).

And then it was all over. Time to travel back to Swindon, at least with a nice stop in Arrochar.
