In December 2001 I visited Glasgow for a long weekend (Friday to Monday). My plan was to combine some Christmas shopping with some hill walking in the Trossachs.
Please select from the links on this page for the places visited over this weekend or follow the links on the pages to the next/previous page. |
1 - Glasgow on Ice
I drove up to Glasgow from Swindon on Friday, arriving in the afternoon. The remainder of the day I spent Christmas shopping and watching people ice skate at "Glasgow on Ice" |
2 - Hill Walking at Auchineden
Saturday morning I spent with a nice walk from Queens View to The Whangie and Auchineden Hill. |
3 - Sunset at Loch Lomond
The Saturday afternoon was spent at the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond where I saw a lovely sunset over the water. A nice walk along one of the beaches on the eastern side. |
4 - The Trossachs
Sunday morning was beautiful and sunny, so I drove along the A81 to Aberfoyle and the Trossachs. A very nice view from the visitor centre. |
5 - Loch Katrine
The sun wasn't everywhere though, Loch Katrine was hiding in dense fog. A strange but beautiful atmosphere on Sunday afternoon. |
6 - Shopping in Glasgow
Monday morning I concluded the weekend with some more Christmas shopping before I left for the long drive to Swindon. |
And that was it. See you again next year?
